REQUIREMENTS

• U.S. Juris Doctorate Degree for Attorney candidates.
• Admission to the District of Columbia Bar is expected if not currently admitted for Attorney candidates.
• Candidates should possess an undergraduate degree or advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or similar background.
• Experience in drafting and prosecuting patent applications is also required.
• Experience in drafting patentability, non-infringement, and invalidity opinions, as well as general client counseling in Intellectual Property issues, is considered a plus.
• Experience practicing patent law and proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively with others on complex matters.
• Demonstrated experience in drafting and prosecuting patent applications.
• Strong legal writing skills are essential.
• Excellent communication skills are essential, both written and oral.
• Consistently excellent judgment is essential.
• Must be a self-starter, have the ability to prioritize workload, and work well under pressure.
• Possessing strong analytical skills is essential.
• Industry, court clerk, and/or USPTO examiner experience desirable.
• Experience and skill in analyzing patents is strongly preferred.
