Felton offers a dynamic, challenging, and supportive work environment where we encourage the use of professional development, that staff can utilize throughout their career.

Program Description

The Reentry Engagement Program (REP) is a community-based, intensive case management and mental health short-term program that is centered around the priorities and interests identified by its clients--both in-custody at Santa Rita Jail and recently released into the community. REP is operated by a diverse team of clinicians and peer support staff who are committed to the values and principles of social and restorative justice in their partnership with REPs clients (TAY and adults with serious mental health conditions.) This program seeks to help increase coordination amongst service delivery systems; support clients in navigating reentry and transition of care; expand the inter-disciplinary treatment team approach of planning of care, treatment, and services for clients; and improve client outcomes to reduce contact with the legal system and emergency services.

This role embodies the practice of meeting people where they are at, including meeting individuals at various community settings, in Santa Rita Jail, honoring where people are at in their recovery journey, flexibly responding to needs, etc.
  • Adheres to the modalities of Motivational Interviewing, Harm Reduction, and Trauma-Informed Care to engage high-need clients in interventions to assist them in creating and meeting their goals.
  • Provides outreach, engagement, skills-building, and resource navigation services. Draws from personal experience to provide hope and validation while maintaining professional boundaries.
  • Supports other members of the treatment team via duties related to providing excellence in care.
  • Adheres to laws regarding confidentiality and reporting requirements and maintain accurate, timely progress records for electronic data entry.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Justice-impacted or Behavioral Health-impacted adult with lived experience (personal or familial)
  • Demonstrated outreach, rapport building, and engagement experience, particularly with those who are struggling to be active in their own recovery.
  • Working knowledge of social service resources in Alameda County for TAY and adults (highly desired).
  • Demonstrated computer skills in word processing (i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel) and ability to learn electronic charting.
  • Strong skills in working independently and also as a team member and managing multiple tasks and deadlines. High levels of patience.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work under the direction of others
  • Communicates clearly and compassionately with colleagues, clients, and supervisory staff verbally and in writing.
  • Maintains professional boundaries and adheres to all professional ethical standards
